Statement for The Hearn: Private Spaces - “The architectural space within the Hearn Generating Station holds a richly textured presence. The historical space is a space of memory, with echoes of those who worked in and passed through the building, holding their past movements, memories and inner stories. In this piece, I have worked with photocopies of photographs within the Hearn. Each photocopy of a photocopy steps away from the original, mirroring steps from our presence within the external material world, to deeper within our own private inner spaces. The images are collaged together to create new spaces to move in and out of, as you move in and out of your private labyrinth of thoughts.”
